Brittle and discoloured toenails

I have had brittle and discoloured toenails for a long time, I run regularly which probably doesn't help nail health. However from what I have read my lupus could have caused this to happen. Has anyone had issues with hard, brittle and discoloured nails ?

I have these too but I don’t run and I have Sjögren’s rather than Lupus.

My finger nails are like that, but so far toe nails are fine. (fingers crossed!) Doctors have little to help and I don't waste time and energy with appointments any more. I am trying natural approaches.

Thanks, it doesn't bother me to the extent that I even mention it to a consultant. It is just a strange appearance and sometimes tough to cut

At least they are hidden for much of the time, too, whereas mine are visible all the time. I only use natural approaches to keep the inflammation around the nail down. I suspect mine is a different cause to yours.

Good point, yes probably a different cause, I hope you are successful in controlling it. Mine is not really a problem but was a question to see if anyone has anything similar Johnny B
