I live a few miles away so i'll go and try some. Probably causes brain fog.....
Well it just means 'Grey Wolf' (which I actually think is a better name than the Latin) so yeah, why not?
it will certainly start conversations.
What is their marketing strategy? Drink til you forget what you're doing? I'm I US, but it would seem a mockery to me, but could be (would have to be, I think) created by someone who actually has lupus. Strange. I'd really like to know more before condemning or congratulating.
I have a wolf and a butterfly tattoo on my right arm, they were done before I was diagnosed with lupus. I love wolves and butterflies so would much prefer it to be called the wolf disease lol.
How weird don't you think about your tats?
I was informed 30 years ago when I was diagnosed that its was called Lupus after the wolf as the wolf has many guises as does lupus !
The brewery is named Wolf, so the name makes total sense, and I've asked them if they are aware of the fact its also sometimes a very debilitating, chronic and at times dangerous disease.
If the company donate 10% of the profit to Lupus I think they could be forgiven
I expect it is a reference to the latin name for hops which is what beer is made from
It would not bother me personally
A s I understand it Lupus got its name because of the rash that was then known to spread across the cheeks and down the nose giving the shape of a wolfs nose.
Interesting piece here on wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syste...
"Lupus is Latin for wolf. In the 18th century, when lupus was just starting to be recognized as a disease, it was thought that it was caused by the bite of a wolf.[5] This may have been because of the distinctive rash characteristic of lupus. (Once full-blown, the round, disk-shaped rashes heal from the inside out, leaving a bite-like imprint.)"
As for the beer I think its a strange name to give a drink, would put me off buying it
