When going for a job interview should you tell them about your Lupus condition or wait and see if you get the job?

I was faced with that same dilemma recently. My last employer treated me differently because of lupus and it became a problem for me. So I opted not to say anything at interview.
My understanding is that employers can't ask about your health until after they offer you the job. My current employer didn't ask about my health at all, and I've chosen not to tell them since (so far) I've been well.

I would NOT tell an employer that I have lupus nor anyone else at work. I would like to be judged by the work that I do, not by any label.
The course of this disease is unpredictable. I may be on the verge of a long remission without knowing that when I apply for a job. Time will tell.

Thank you for the feed back,this is obviously a difficult question to answer.I suppose It is a, decide on the day, at the interview what you end up telling a possible new employer.
I wouldn't bother. I informed work re my illnesses and i'd a miscarriage x 2 (they only knew of 1) and they still took a disciplinary on which i had to appeal, i was kept on at work but this was kept on my employment record and i also had to pay huge amounts on a solicitor! On the other side, I've been completely open about it with my current employer and they have every aspect covered and every problem anticipated. They've happily spent over £4,000 on reasonable adjustments so far but the big one for me is they've adjusted the sickness/absence disciplinary procedure to allow for those unexpected days. They have also allowed for career breaks if needed if things get too much and I need a long break and they will even pay me when at my hospital appointments without deducting it from holidays.
The last place I worked was a learning curve for this job where I basically laid my cards on the table and said this is what I've got and if I'm going to work here this is what needs to be done.
All my colleagues know I have "difficulties" and there has been no negative discrimination and most are quite supportive (the others just don't ask or mention it).
If you're not comfortable in saying anything before a job offer, I would certainly mention it as a "need to see occupational health". If they don't know they can't help and if the proverbial poop hits the fan later on, they can't turn round and say "well you didn't tell us".

That's a very good point you've made. In my present job I've had to tell them because my job is physical. I really want to change my job to do something less demanding on the body. I have one more exam to pass this year hopefully, before I can move on but it does worry me a bit how it's all going to turn out and wether I will be able to cope with the change.
