Getting a mortgage and live insurance

Morning all, my partner and I really want to move to a more practical house, but I was concerned whether we would even be offered a joint mortgage and life insurance when I don't work due to Lupus and Hughes Syndrome.

We just wondered whether any of you had been successful or encountered problems along the way.
