Hi all I have lost my esa appeal should I take it to the further appeal or just re apply.
Ask your consultant to refer you for a Occupational Therapy report or commission one privately and re-apply. DWP find it extremely difficult to argue with that kind of factual evidence.
Also, see the excellent advice given at benefitsandwork.co.uk/

Definitely appeal- i lost my 1st applic- despite GP& Consult. letters- i appealed, was rejected, appealed was waiting to get tribunal date & then they mysteriously "re-assessed" my claim & found in my favour- so DONT GIVE UP! I was actually told by DWP guy on phone (as i rang up in tears) - if it's any comfort, they're rejecting everyone! So it is their tactic to just keep rejecting appeals to seee if u will pursue it or not- so don't guve ip - ooops cant type- it was the same with DLA- i kept appealing & this time it went to tribunal- but they rang ip on the day & judge found in my favour so i didnt have to turn up! Hang on in there! Sxx
I only applied once and despite them admitting I was disabled I was turned down because I am the registered care for my father in law who lives with us.Seems they don't realise you still have to care for others even when you are ill yourself
LUPUS UK have a range of publications produced by an external organisation - Benefits & Work. The informative guides cover a range of issues relating to disability and benefits. These guides are available free of charge to Members of LUPUS UK upon request lupusuk.org.uk/living-with-...
My local CAB has a specialist benefits advisor and after being turned down , I went to appeal after the advisor sorted it out. I had to re apply as well and she filled in the form , took us 2.5 hours but I got top whack everything. Mine wasn't for a lupus part as that was unknown then but my advice is get a professional to Help if you can
