Yep. One of the many joys of lupus. I still wear heels for special occasions but I am crippled by them.

Hey I have it too! Its quite depressing really when you cant wear the shoes u want. I've been wearing orthotics for a good few years now! It makes a difference to the pain though!

Well, I don't know the extent of your other symptoms, or the degree of plantar fasciitis but I had symptoms of it a while ago and googled it. There are some really good video's on You Tube giving exercises you can do - which I did - very uncomfortable at first but after 2 or 3 weeks it seemed to be fully resolved. So now if I get that pain, I immediately do those exercises and that seems to sort it. Worth a try!

I get this quite often,SO painful!unfortunately, generally speaking my feet are in a terrible state with various things, very stiff and inflexible, can hardly bend my toes, can't wear any except the flattest shoes, which is still painful due to having no 'fat' on my soles, literally walking on bone,so always wear Fitflop sandals or boots now, I drool over my daughters beautiful 4 inch heels! Do have great difficulty walking a lot of the time Will look on YouTube though and give the exercises a go, if I can manage them! Thanks for the tip!

You might find that if you follow all the advice given by the podiatrist, wear the insoles, do the exercises etc that you make a good recovery and can get away with wearing nice shoes now and then. My podiatrist talks about 'car to bar' shoes - ie wearing the non sensible shoes only for short periods and not walking around a lot in them. I dog walk 3-6 miles a day with no problems! Obviously wearing proper shoes for the latter :)

hi i wear alegria shoes as they have an amzing insole

you can buy them on ebay

if buying the palomas they are a size bigger than your normal so if you take a 6 buy a five

Hi, I started with pain in my feet a year ago, and over time they seemed to go but back in august came back with vengeance....to the point now every step is painful , walking oddly and my hips hurt(I think from how I am walking) . GP tested for inflammation but nothing showed up in the bloods. I, too have ditched heels and flats for trainers or a shoes with about a inch or two heel and gel or thick comfy insoles.....waste of about 50 pairs of shoes :( . I have tried the exercises and even bought a night splint but still as painful....so off for x-rays soon. Oh the joys of feeling 90 at 40! Lol xxxx
