Ref: question about last Friday and GP referring me to a specialist

Just to let you all know, checking up with you doctor works. If you read my question about being referred to a specialist about my gallbladder it will give you the background information. From that telephone call, I received a letter the following day from my GP confirming that I now have an appointment in two weeks! Hopefully my gallbladder and gallstones can wait that long, taking codeine and paracetamol 30/500 and tramadol for the pain. At times it's worse than childbirth! Hopefully the specialist will decide to remove it sooner rather than later the way I'm feeling at the moment.

Yep, I'd agree with that, I have had mine removed due to gallstones and it did hurt like hell, yes sometimes more than childbirth! Doesn't help when paramedics think you're hamming it up to get meds either lol.

Hope you get the help you need soon :o)

Thank you, did you manage to read my original question. As it referred to my GP referral being sat on the desk of the admin team for a week. Still in pain but have an appointment two weeks today. Not sure how long I'll be waiting for the operation though, do you?

I am waiting for my gall bladder to be removed. I read that Ibuprofen would help as it,s an anti inflammatory which is part of the problem. this of course with advice from your doctor. Hope you,re soon sorted!

I can't take anti inflammatory due to having chronic kidney disease stage 3. On tramadol and codeine and paracetamol takes the edge off the pain. Thank you for your thoughts and I hope everything goes ok for you too. Do you have long to wait? Let me know how you are xx

My op has been postponed 3 times due to Shingles then 2 chest infections. I have an appointment to see the surgeon next Tues June 4th so will see what that brings. My g bladder ok at the moment but can do without the dreaded attack! I try to steer clear of Ibuprofen for numerous reasons but can tolerate it if needed.

I hope your illness is well controlled
