Hi my lovely husband got the bad news from his first CT scan, after Chemo /Rad treatment, 4 cycles Gem/ Carbo, and 20 radiotherapy treatments,we were told that the cancer had spread to the liver,,4cm tumour. The further bad news was that they could not put him straight back onto chemo ,because his lymph/leuk count has been consistently low 0.2 since finishing treatment 12 weeks ago. There was some mention of radiofrequency ablation, but I am now wondering about Tarceva ? The onc has gone back to the team to have to have a think.. and will see him in 4 weeks. He has been put on antibiotics to help the immune system.I would really appreciate any thoughts or suggestions.we are willing to pay if it is not available on the NHS.hope someone can have a brainwave,,cheers Teresa

I'm so so sorry to read this Teresa. Geoff did not deserve this news after all that treatment (nobody does). I've heard of radio frequency ablation but do not know much about it. We used tomotherapy for mum's tumour ( we had to pay privately). I know people also use cyber knife for mets but I'm no expert on that. Lots of options to explore which you can discuss with his consultant. i think my biggest advice from our journey is to seek a second opinion if you ever have doubts over a suggested treatment plan. Did Geoff respond well to his chemo before - was there good shrinkage? How is feeling in himself since the treatment ended? My love & prayers are with you both! Praying for a great treatment plan for you so that this new spread is cleared and Geoff gets back on track xxx
Hi Teresa,
I just wanted to say how sorry I am to read your news this morning. I just want to say check everything out, talk to your oncologist about everything and I will pray that you find a treatment that will help Geoff. Again so sorry. Georgie x
