Adaura 2 trail

Had a small upper lobe segment removal 10/18 stage 1a (R lower lobectomy and R upper lobe wedge 2018). No treatment at the time and no treatment recommended once again. However, did meet with Thoracic onc last week to discuss how this pathogoly compared to initial one 5 years ago and thoughts on chances of future recurrences. They beleive this is a new primary - same EFGR+ that was in lower lobe removal. Since it is 1a, I am not eligible for Tagrisso. However, there is a current trial underway for newly resected 1a (Adaura 2). Wondering if anyone particiated in the 1st Adaura trail? Studies from the 1st trial show amazing results for the 3 years patients were on it (length of trial). However, some reduction once they come off the drug -obviously some patients stay on much longer. My thought is to be part of the study (double blind) even if I get placebo to help find treatment options for others down the road. I am concered about the side effects and toxicity if I am do get Tagrisso and then have to stop it in 3 years just to have the effectiveness (assuming no recurrence) reduced to pre drug levels. It is such a new drug so unlike Tamoxifen, where the results of being on the drug for 5 years are so long lasting, I don't think they have the data yet on long term effectviness of 3 years on Tagrisso. Curious to hear from 1b patients who did just 3 years on Tagrisso and scans since and to hear how others would handle if given the oppotunity - needless to say I still need to be accepted into the study!

Hi kr312.I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic NSC lung cancer in May 2022. I had keyhole surgery but only wedge resection of my right lower lobe was done as the cancer had spread. I was started on Targetted Therapy, Tagrisso in June 2022. One year on therapy. So far no more metastasis. The cancer is contained. I feel good, continuing with my routine, exercises. I thank God.
