Has anyone had a PET scan (5 years s/p RL lobectomy, R UL wedge for stage 1 adenocarcinoma) light up near suture site upper lobe (SUV 2.0) and it NOT be a recurrence? Going to see MD to discuss results today :(. Sadly preparing for bad news

This must be a very worrying time for you and your loved ones especially having reached 5years since your surgery, which is often seen as a goal for disease free survival .

It is difficult to say if changes on your recent imaging will or will not be due to recurrence of your disease, although there may be other lung conditions or infection that can be responsible for changes on scans.

We are here to support you and provide any information you may require following your consultation today . You can contact our ask the nurse service , Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 , Friday 0900-1600 or by emailing us at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org, if you require any further support.

I hope you have a favourable outcome from your meeting today.
