Hi Octavia

I had upper right lobe removed last May, with a tumour of 43mm and no spread detected. I decided against chemo as I was given the choice by the specialist. I felt at the time I couldn’t manage anymore treatment at the time. Only time will tell.

Anyway, wishing you all the best, love xx

Hi Octavia 2018,

I had the same as you last year had the op on 27th July, lower left lobe lobectomy and followed by 4 rounds of adjuvant chemotherapy over 12 weeks. Had my first scan results in early February and I am all clear. I had the choice to have the chemo or not as there was no cancer left after the op so I went for the "belt and braces" route.

Hope it all goes good for all the best.

Well done on being eligible for surgery and recovering well. VATS wasn't around when I had my open surgery to remove upper left lobe in December 2010 and told chemotherapy wasn't effective for the rare type I had (7cm mucinous adenocarcinoma) although in the years since then treatment recommendations have changed and I would have been offered it. hope it goes well for you.
