Hello this is a request on behalf of a PHD student at Manchester university.
Radiotherapy is a very common treatment for lung cancer, with over 40% of patients receiving it as part of their care. This project aims to give patients and their loved ones accurate and easy-to-understand resources to understand the basic science behind radiotherapy treatment and how it works, helping to reduce anxiety around treatment and help answer any questions they might have about the process.
You can contribute to this project by telling us about your radiotherapy experience, either as a patient or as someone supporting a patient with cancer. You are eligible if you or a loved one has received, is currently receiving or will receive radiotherapy treatment for lung cancer - either primary or metastatic (cancer that has spread to somewhere else). The survey will take 10-15 minutes to complete. They are entirely confidential and all questions are optional if there is anything you feel uncomfortable about answering.
Your responses will be used to inform the types of resources that will be developed to help patients learn about their radiotherapy treatment. Your answers will only be seen by Dr Kristina Small, who is running this project, and with the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. If you would like any more information or have any questions, feel free to email Dr Small at kristinasmall1993@gmail.com.
