Hi everyone . Hope you are all doing good. I havent been on for a while because ive been in hospital I was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer feb 20. Had chemotherapy and radiation all was going well until August this year I had trouble swallowing my food had a scan and found tumour pressing against my esphogus. I am now on liquid feed had tube inserted in nose to stomach which is not very nice I also had a blast of radiation . Im not sure what to do I feel as though my esphogus is closing up because I could eat soft foods before now I bring everything back up if I eat something. I thought it could be inflammation but it is not a nice feeling has anyone else experienced any similar .

I am sorry you are having such a terrible time. I haven’t experienced your type of cancer or the challenges it brings, I am sure there will be others on the forum who will have words of encouragement and experiences to help. Thinking of you x

Dear Sixtygirl

So sorry to hear you have had a tumour pressing against your oesophagus, and how uncomfortable you must be. Do let your oncology team know if you have not already, of how you are unable to even manage a soft diet without vomiting it back up, it may be that you need to be reassessed so it can be managed well.

Hope you hear from others in the forum and if you would like to discuss anything you can email ask the nurse at lungcancerhelp@roycastle.org or call our free phone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200 Monday to Thursday 0900-1700 and Friday 0900-1600.

I hope you feel better soon.

Kind regards
