Hi red scan results have been with my oncologist itt usually 3to 4 weeks. I know how you are feeling anxiety sets in because of the unknown. Just try and relax and do some relaxing techniques it's horrible waiting but what else can we do other than be patient. Thinking of you. ELAINE.
Hi Red. It can be a worrying time. I can only tell you what I tell myself! This is that the results will be the same whether I worry or not so I try not to think about it and do nice things instead or more likely housework, washing, garden tidying etc, etc!Take care of yourself. I have started having a massage once a month, very relaxing.
Thanks mags just been told my mum who had fall few weeks ago fracture her pelvis she in hospital got pumonia now today been told has pancreatic cancer also. It only matter of time so my scan issues feel meaningless now sorry I had to tell someone nothing they can do for her I feel like living in a nightmare x
Hi Red, I'm so sorry to hear about your mum - this news just adds insult to injury for you. I hope you will be able to support her through her difficult time whilst looking after yourself too. It might help if you have someone to talk to and maybe call McMillan or Roy Castle nurses. You need support too. I'm so sorry for your troubles and hope you and your mum can rely on each other for support at this really difficult time. Words are difficult to find to help you. Sending you lots of love, please take care of yourself. Love Mags xx
your imagination is likely running riot and probably thinking of things far worse than reality so try and find a way to distract it.... I find keeping myself busy, clearing out a cupboard or wardrobe and finding things to donate to charity, writing birthday cards for the next month or so or as it's near Xmas, you could write xmas cards early, reading, immerse yourself in a film preferably not a sad one, do something for somebody else so your focus isn't on you and hopefully your mind will settle.... after my surgery to remove half my lung and a tumour in Dec 2010, my only follow up was regular scans so have had quite a bit of practice! Breathing exercises, yoga, pilates, swimming, walking - walk somebody's dog - anything to get into a different head and preferably physical space will help 'reset' your anxiety - good luck

Hi Margaret well I don't have the words to say how sorry I am to hear about your mum on top of your diagnosis. All my thoughts are with you and your mum 🤗 a virtual hug. Please seek any support either through Roy Castle or Macmillan to help you through this difficult time.Regarding your other question re scan to consultation I'm in the same boat and it's terrible however here in Bournemouth we usually only wait 2 weeks. But still too long if you know what I mean.
Margaret please keep in touch my thoughts are with you ❤xx
