Only a biopsy can tell you for sure what it is. A mass of blood vessels could mean many things. Has he had a CT scan? A PET scan? Until a mass of something reaches 1cm it’s to small to biopsy. Please be advised though that 20% or more if this who never smoked are diagnosed with lung cancer. He should follow this regularly with a pulmonologist.

He has been getting lots of chest infections and voice changes . The most recent us coughing up blood. An x-ray showed the mass of blood vessels in his right lung. He has been referred . Thankyoi for your reply.

Dear Ukjaciem

Welcome to the forum. As Denzie has said this could be many things(Pulmonary hypertension, Pulmonary vascular disease) and needs further investigation, did they diagnosis your brother from a scan already or has he seen a specialist?. It is understandable how we all think the worse and do be careful if you are looking for answers on the internet and only use approves sites e.g the British Lung Foundation blf.org.uk, they have a helpline number 03000 030 555

Sorry to hear your sister died of lung cancer and this must bring back many painful memories

If you wish to discuss anything you can call us on our Freephone nurse led helpline on 0800 358 7200

All the very best
