That's a new one on me. I guess we need to do some research. Maybe your oncologist can help clear this up for you.

I looked up clear cell carcinoma on line and it is a form of kidney cancer. The chemo and radiation therapies are probably effective for this tumor type. I hope it all goes well for you. Keep us informed. We're all pulling for you.

Wow...I wasn’t told I have kidney cancer the pathology report says my lung mass was clear cell

That was what came up when I looked up clear cell carcinoma. You would get better information from your oncologist. There might be another lung cancer with the same name. Let me know what you find out.

I found some references to clear cell lung carcinomas after I changed my search words a couple times. It’s extremely rare. Usually benign or slow growing. I’ll be back with some links.

Sounds kind of promising since everything was removed and I’m doing adjuvant therapy and nothing spread!! Thanks for all the support!! I’d be lost without all of u❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you so much. What I can read is it’s seems to have a better survival rate, mentions it’s easier to control and chemo kills it. Did I comprehend that correctly??

My understanding is the same as your. This chance of this cancer being aggressive is extremely rare almost no chance at all.

Cancer sucks, but if you have to have it this might be the least scary. I’ll look forward to hearing what your dr says.

Hi. I'm back. I, too, found references to clear cell carcinoma of the lung. Had to dig pretty deep to find it. Denzie, I'm glad you found it first and relieved Lovey's mind. It is very rare so hard to find references.

Wishing you great success with your treatment plan. Keep us informed about your journey.

I know, right? It took some digging. Google kept wanting to give me the kidney kind. I finally got better clues to phrasing a page or two in.

I also found references to ovarian and endometrial clear cell carcinomas. Guess we learn something every day.

Thanks so much, yes found out that reoccurrence is also rare... as long as I stick to my 6 weeks radiAtion and 3 rounds of post surgery chemo

Dear Lovey1000!

I had been diagnosed in June 2016 with Endometrial clear cell adencarcinoma.

Basically, mine was a primary in the lining of the uterus. I had a full hysterectomy, followed by chemotherapy ( 6 shots) and finally 5weeks of radiotherapy directly to the pelvic area. The oncologists tend to treat clear cell cancer rather aggressively, as usually it is a high grade (3), and so has a tendency to recurr which explains why they recommend surgery, chemo and radiation to make sure they hit it hard! It's been a full year since I finished all my treatment. My hair's back, I'm doing well and my life's back to quasi normal, with a few hiccups here and there!

So! Trust your doctors, keep positive, even though this is a rare tumour, if caught in time and handled with utmost attention, it will be kept at bay.

Take courage and keep looking forward to the time when you can start feeling like your old self once again.

Good luck!

I was told that caught early with 6 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation had surgery removed 4 active nodes and 2 lobes on the right side, my nurse said and dr says endometrial does not reoccur if all removed in lung area and did not spread and most important the chemo worked due to the surgery coming back with no margins

Lovey1000

Oh and all the things ck20 and four other were negative

Lovey1000

Mary Ann thanks so much for the info so I asked my dr, ovarian cancer maybe treated different then clear cell in a lung mass

You're welcome! Always discuss and ask questions to your Oncologist as each case has to be seen on its own merits. All I can say is so far, my treatment has worked! I am checked thoroughly every 3 months, so nothing can be overlooked!

Hope all goes well with your treatment too!

Much love,

MaryAnne

Denzie what do u think????

Lovey1000 profile image
Lovey1000

She says it’s the worst cancer with high reoccurrence

Your doctor will be updating you with information about the tumor grade (aggressiveness). Until that time anything is speculation. The odds are in your favor though that it is not as dangerous the endometrial.

Lovey1000 profile image
Lovey1000 in reply toDenzie

Endometrial?

Lovey1000 profile image
Lovey1000 in reply toLovey1000

I saw that on my report before the word clear cell

Denzie profile image

The lining of the uterus is called the endometrium.

Lovey1000 profile image
Lovey1000 in reply toDenzie

Oh I had a biopsy on the uterus in 2015 negative, I have endometrium clear cell

Each cancer and each person's response to that cancer is different. Your best bet is going with what your oncologist recommends for your treatment plan. He or she will create an individualized plan for you. It sounds as though you are in good hands. I wish you a great response and a long period of remission or at best a cure.

Also, thank you for opening up a dialogue that was lively and extremely informative. It took several false starts, but we gained valuable information about a tumor type many of us have never heard of.

I went for my chemo treatment Tuesday and Denzie was right a very slow growing tumor in the lung with a very low reoccurrence which o Lo happens when the type of tumor was growing in the lung, when they removed it no margins so I’m positive after this chemo I have one left then radiation for 3 it 4 weeks

You posted further up the thread that your surgeon said it was slow growing and then. I see that. The one further up is 20 minutes newer than this. Does it change the entry? Is yours endometrial meta to the lung rather than lung primary ?
