Newly diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of lung

My local VA blew off my frequent complaints of headaches . Turns out they were metastasis from a small nsc lung cancer. Now have had a week's worth of targeted radiation to the head and started chemo last week; pemetrexed and carboplatin. Turns out I didn't have any of the "good" mutations they could work with better. MN now has medical cannabis so I'm going to try also cbd oil with a little THC. Supposed to be a wonderful addition to almost any cancer. Doing well with the chemo so far except constipation now.

I hope you do well. The oncologist I had said he wish he could prescribe Marijuana for me, but is illegal in Tennessee. He did a lot of missionary work in other countries and could use it. I hope the CBD oil works for you!

I pray your treatments work and that you have few side effects.

Elmer, I am so sorry your complaints weren't taken seriously. I hope you are getting great care now. Please just make sure your oncologist knows everything you are taking - some things interfere with the treatments.

We have free resources and materials for folks diagnosed with lung cancer, please feel free to email me at: pbezruki@freetobreathe.org for information. I would love to send you our free Patient Information Kit - I would just need your address to get that out to you. Our records are secure and confidential.

Thank you for joining us - so glad to have you as part of this great community. Welcome!

If nothing else, the THS in the marijuana will help with appetite. It was the only thing that helped me be able to eat. Best wishes!

Hi Elmer. With your ‘cocktail’ it is likely food will begin to have a metallic taste. If so, changing to plastic ware utensils will help greatly. Also, puddings, jello and soft, scrambled eggs formed a good part of my diet. Best Wishes, judg69
