I went to see my chemo Dr. today. He wants to send me to the surgeon. He seems to think they can remove it. If not possibly chemo but he said I more than likely would not be able to have radiation to that area again. The other option would be immunotherapy treatment.

Update
At least your oncologist thinks that surgery is an option. Don't give up hope yet, you still have options regardless what the surgeon says. Sending you positive thoughts.
So glad to hear you have a couple of options. Explore what they offer and follow your heart. Thank you so much for keeping us updated - we'll be holding you in our thoughts.
Did he explain what immunotherapy does I would like to know. I really hope everything turns out okay. I'll be thinking of you and hoping everything turns out okay. Remember keep right on fighting and we'll fight right along with you. Hoping only the best for you. Jo Taylor
Not really he did say we would discuss it further if I could not have surgery, He did say that people were doing great on it. I told him that I was aware of the drug and have herd good things.
I had my first treatment of the drug Opdivo and did good. I know that at any time side effects could appear during treatment. I have heard so many good things, praying this is my answer since so many chemo treatments stopped working
I will be praying that this works for you. I have heard good things about the treatment.
What did your surgeon say?
The one surgeon I saw did not want to touch me wants me to go to Moffitt or another surgeon that is experience working on a radiated lung. Needless to say Tuesday we redid the Pet Scan to make sure it was not infection but cancer has returned period oncologist and radiologist are suggesting chemo. My radiologist said that he thinks it may not be operable because it's close to my aorta. Of course I want to go to the Moffitt Center, MD Anderson exedra but none of them big outfits take my insurance. Thank you for asking. I am really scared.
I'm sorry to hear that My tumor was coiled around the aorta and the first three surgeons I saw wouldn't touch it but I went to City of Hope and they said yes. Fortunately for me the chemo radiation therapy killed the tumor so I don't need the surgery now.
I'll be praying for you
