It's been a couple of busy/stresssful weeks but it seems my dad is doing much better and on the mend. The steriods have helped tremendously with his inflammation in the chest and his cough is nearly gone. The radiation really did a number on him. He is on a small dose of oxygen at home. He started at 10, and now he's on 2. Even if he doesn't have it on, he seems to not have the shortness of breath he was having a few weeks ago. His walking /Balance has improved. He still needs a cane, but he can get up on his own and walk much easier. We hope this gradually improves more. He's also eating well.
Since the doctors want him to get stronger they have him doing one chemo treatment each week (carboplastin). That way he doesn't get knocked down again after just recovering from the radiation side effects he had.
My dad still worries a lot as the cancer did spread to the liver , but hopefully this chemo treatment weekly will keep it at bay until he starts the clinical trial. Sometimes he says he feels anxiety not knowing what the future holds. I remind him we will not let this cancer win and a positive attitude is so important . Some days are better than others for him. We will conquer this with gods healing and faith! One day at a time...

Lisa, you go girl! I am so proud of you continuing to build your father up. Positive fighting spirit😊
Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) 10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Tell your Dad to lean on God and pray the above prayer together. I am praying it for you now. In Christ Texas64
God Bless you Lisa, thank you for your prayers I need them🙂 It touches me deeply that my posts comfort you but God is being glorified here. I am but a vessel who has asked Him to use me to help others . God has comforted me so much this last year of "my new normal". I love all on here with Christs love and pray for all that you will be healed and whole. Praise Him.
Whatever you are going through is just so hard to imagine. My dad had lung cancer too and he didn't make it.
I just want you to be with your dad and do not fear anything. Praying for you and hope that your dad recovers. Give him all the strength and support that he needs.
Very happy that your dad is feeling better. Anxiety goes along with the diagnosis. How can we help it? Fortunately there are so many treatments available to us and new ones being developed all the time. A strong faith and positive attitude are a big plus. Your dad is so fortunate to have you on his side.
