Hi, I have been given a 2 part leg flat knit compression stocking, lower limb and a thigh to wear at the same time, as the lymphoedema clinic thought it might be easier for me as I have arthritis in my hands, previously I had a one piece thigh high, but I am having terrible problems getting the thigh part on, the bottom one up to the knee is easy but the thigh is tight and takes a lot if strength to get it over the lower stocking and up to the thigh, I use a frame to get the lower one on and a rubber glove but just a rubber glove to get the thigh part up, has anyone else had a 2piece and any tips to get it on please?
(I’ve checked YouTube but couldn’t see anything, my next appointment at the clinic is not until Dec)

What protects your knee? Do you have a velcro wrap piece to prevent swelling over the joint? I have never seen ‘split’ compression on the same limb. I truly hope it works for you! However, if you do have big problems donning the thigh garment, don’t wait until December for reassessment.
Thank you Lynora for responding, the lower part you put on an inch below your knee and the upper part overlaps as you start that below your knee so the knee is covered by the thigh part of the garment. I have emailed the lymphoedema clinic but haven’t had a reply yet to see what they suggest so fingers crossed.
Hi DeadfootMo thank you for your reply, I have had bandaging for 3 weeks back in May but it didn’t reduce my limb size very much I’m afraid but I agree I think I need a reassessment as it shouldn’t be this difficult to put on. Many thanks x
Try putting the upper part on first. Fold the portion closest to the knee up a bit and then don the bottom portion and fold the upper one down over it. Might work
