Fast N Go Bandages?

Hello

Had anyone tried Fast N Go bandages? See hybridbandaging.com/ or autobandage.fr/

Interesting - if they really work. But they are outrageously expensive

Thanks for any feedback

Therapist here. Another way to reduce swelling - simpler to use than traditional bandages. Soft cotton against skin - easy to apply. Promotes self-bandaging versus via therapist - cost savings right there.

Hello, and thanks for your reply.

Can you please tell me more about this? Is there a soft cotton product that works to reduce lymphoedema like bandaging?

To see Fast’n Go, search on Youtube.

Oh I see, you refer to the Fast N Go system. Sorry, I thought you were suggesting a different option.

Thanks for posting. This looks interesting - I've been interested in trying bandaging but been put off having it done at the clinic (not that it has been offered to me, of course ) by the fact that you're permanently bandaged (can't wash, etc.) and have been a bit daunted by self-bandaging videos (worried I'll do it wrong and cause problems).

I can't find a UK version of the site, so I guess those in the UK would have to buy from the US or French site?

I’ve been doing self-bandaging for years, I m comfortable with it technically but it’s very time consuming.

This Fast N Go system looks like a real time saver but I don’t know how well it works

And I don’t know if this product is for sale anywhere in the UK

Hopefully someone here will have tried it and can let us know 🤞.

Hi there,

The LSN published an article I wrote in the Spring issue about Fast ‘n Go. I bought some bandages from France to try having seen them recommended by Amanda Sobey. There is not currently a UK distributor. I have mild/moderate lymphoedema in one leg and wear a Class 2 full leg stocking. I have also had LVA surgery and this has helped. I use the bandages very regularly for comfort mostly and tend to wrap them over my garment. If I have to stand for long periods I find it gives that extra support. I sometimes wrap it over Mobiderm too and just experiment. The biggest benefit should be achieved when exercising. The first time I experimented I went for a cycle and really felt the benefit. I found I could flex my knee better.I have had them for a year and they wash well and last a long time. They are really comfortable cotton. I think the biggest thing for me was that it gave me a sense of control when I was going a bit mad with it all and didn’t have much support like so many of us.I can put it on when I need and it adapts to any size of limb. I have had no bandaging training from anyone and was assured that the design of the bandage would allow me to use them safely. I have wasted such a lot of money on things that don’t work or don’t fit but I do not regret buying these although they seem expensive. One thing you could do without spending any money is to follow the link on the website to arrange a Zoom meeting with Pierre Gonon. He will be able to answer any questions and is very knowledgeable about lymphoedema. This is what I did initially and it really helped to clear my thoughts. I don’t know how the system compares with traditional bandaging as I have never been wrapped but it seems to have many advantages. The biggest is you don’t need anyone else to do it for you and you don’t need to travel to a clinic. It’s fairly easy to apply with some practice and it doesn’t take too long. It’s also small so you can take it with you and have it handy. If you do buy some you will need to pay import duty which can then be claimed back from Pierre. Hope that’s helped a bit. Happy to answer any more questions if I can.

Hi SRML

Thanks so much for this helpful recounting of your experience. Can you share a link to the article please ?

You’ve hit the nail on the head when you talk about having a sense of control. Personally I am doing self bandaging and I admit really resent the time and energy it takes. And the material is a pain to haul around on vacation. So this may be a good item to add to the toolkit!

I’ll get in touch with the distributor. I happen to live in France so there’s a bonus. : )

You’re very welcome. My article was in Lymphline Spring 2023. Think you’d have to be an LSN member to access it. Pretty much covered the main bits anyway. Pierre’s a good guy. I really recommend a chat with him. Good Luck!

Yes, I have a set of Fast n Go bandages. I primarily use them when I am exercising and wear them over leggings. I also use them to wrap over my night time Jobst Relax garment. They are easy and quick to apply and remove. I personally do not feel that they give me the same result as wrapping with short stretch bandages and foam, but they are a valuable tool and I will definitely invest in another set when it is time. Hope this helps

Thank you Rexygirl1957 ! I really appreciate hearing your experience. I have Jobst relax, which I love. Sometimes when I’m short on time I wrap 2 layers of short stretch bandages directly over the Jobst relax. It’s my shortcut for when I haven’t time to do the full bandaging with foam and all the layers. But the Fast’n go sounds even quicker. In fact I think Fast’n go might be a good compromise when travelling on holiday as it would be so much easier to pack than the volumes of bandages, foam, tape etc.

Re: exercising - do you put Fast’n go over your leggings instead of wearing your usual compression stockings? I always wear my usual compression when exercising, but am curious about this.

yes, they would be very convenient for travel! I do not wear them over my regular compression garment. I wear jobst elvarex class 3, that’s enough for me😂I wear the fast n go over compressive exercise leggings.
