Hi gram jane, here goes... I fell down some steps around 10 years ago and after that could not kneel down. Last year I tripped whilst walking the dog and soon after the one knee swole up with excruciating pain. I was told it was cartilage, sciatica to name a few. Finally went private and an MRI detected it was osteonecrosis. It means the blood supply is not going to the bone but the specialist said it can heal itself and could take up to 2 years and so I’m now on crutches. At my worst I was on 8 tramadol plus 8 pain killers and also morphine. I was in severe pain twice for sound 7 - 8 weeks. No meds at the moment and I hope I never have pain like that again.
