Go with the advice of your surgical team. What op have you had?

Blocked tear ducts were done 8 weeks ago but couldn't get right stent out so had to go back in today on my 50th birthday ha ha to get it removed under general anaesthetic.

Hi Bev 1966,

When I had a hip replacement the general nurses insisted I wear compression socks, but FOR ME they made the swelling much worse. Eventually a specialist nurse came in and said I should not have been given them.

Since then my lymphedema nurse said to speak to the surgeon before the next operation and take his advice. I would probably have been OK with compression tights but this was not possible with hip replacement until wound had healed enough.
