My arms (I have lymphedema in both) have become very painful. They use to be uncomfortable. I have no redness.
Any ideas?: My arms (I have lymphedema in both) have... - LSN

Call your clinic - pain should be checked out, regardless of lack of skin discolouration.
hi clown
absolutely - it may be 'just' (ha!) that it's playing up a bit & your arms are heavier than usual, which could hurt, but it could be infection even if it usually manifests in another way
hope it's not, but nip over to a walk in centre if you can (it's always at the w/e, isn't it??)
Hi clown, poor you. The skin gets stretched and all the other parts might get inflamed because of the extra fluid, so it's no wonder that the arms become painful. Are your arms a lot more enlarged than before? Have you tried swimming? I find that swimming exercises the arms and makes the lymphatic fluid to move a bit, but I would follow the advise given in the previous comments and seek medical advice although, from my experience, you might get conflicting advice as it happened to me.
Is the swelling much worse? Email me at naomi@bodybrilliantltd.com. Swimming would be great, but u should wear your Compression sleeves when swimming. NNE
Confession time: I am the biggest coward where swimming is concerned. When I was 12 I was
pushed into the pool, as that way I was supposed to learn to swim. I kept away from the swimming pool up until 6 months ago when I started doing aqua - aerobics. I go twice a week. I know I should learn to swim but need a kind understanding tutor as now not only am I afraid of swimming - I have these issues with my arms!
Sorry about your pain. I remember reading after my lumpectomy that certain stretching pains could occur any time after having the operation - even years later but best to get it checked out. Do you have a lymphoedema nurse - if so, I would think that is the best starting point if your doc cannot help. Hope it improves soon.
