Does anyone have a remedy or suggestions for dealing with congestion? Dealing with my asthma AND congestion is truly a pain! I’m on allergy medication (Flonase, Claritin. Etc) Can’t take Sudafed bc it raises my BP! I’ve also do steam with essential oils, taken horseradish, etc... all temporary! It’s worse at night!

I've also had this for years. When I take nose sprays, meds. for allergies they quit working after a little while. Anyway I found out a remedy. Not only do I use it but also 2 others in the house with allergies/sinus issues. I use organic oregano oil in a steam. Depending on strength of oregano determines the amount of drops I put in the steaming water. Not only does it help with nasal congestion but it's also a natural antibiotic. I put about 1-2 inches of filtered water in pan. Get water hot. So there is steam. Put in 2+ drops in. Head over this with a towel over my head. Breathe this in for 10-12 min. Good luck!!

Thank you so much for your reply and suggestion! I haven’t tried oregano oil for steaming but do take oregano oil in pill form the moment I feel a cold coming on! I will definitely give this a try! Thanks again and stay well! ♥️

Thanks again for the suggestion and I picked up some organic oregano oil the other day but haven’t used it since I’ve been back on my Lung, Bronchial & Sinus Health by Natural Factors. After the first pill I was congestion free and it’s clearing up all my mucus as well. Great stuff (NAC is in it and it’s great for your respiratory but sometimes it could make some people’s asthma worse— I think bc it’s clearing out all the junk in your lungs) and I don’t know why I stopped taking it but it’ll be a part of my daily regimen now to keep things at bay! Take care!

Please tell me more about by Natural Factors. What exactly is it? My asthma has gone into COPD and could use another way to help me breathe. Thanks.

Hi there! I also saw your comment on another question regarding symbicort use and you said you don’t always take your evening dose of symbicort but you get winded going up a small hill. Could it be that you need to take your evening dose of symbicort? It takes a good month before I feel my inhaler working ( When the Dr switched my meds). Also do a little research on Boswella! It’s great stuff! Should take with Curcumin for better results. Do your research as these two supplements are great for your respiratory. Check with your Dr reg adding other supplements.

I take the supplement NAC (N-acetyl-cysteine). I was having the same problem and was reading that in other countries they have a prescription form of this that works for this problem so I tried it and it does help decrease my congestion significantly.

Thank you so much for your reply! I have heard of NAC and use to take a supplement called “Lung, Bronchial & Sinus Health” and it has NAC, Bromelain, Marshmallow, Mullein, Wild Cherry, Horehound and Ivy Extracts! Good stuff and had no problem using it until I started on inhalers. I felt like the two we’re fighting with each other if that makes sense so I stop using it. Out of desperation yesterday I took one pill and it cleared my congestion even though I felt it was doing something else in my chest (probably clearing up something!) So I’m going to continue to take it (as well as try the oregano steaming) and hope this will keep me clear! Thanks again for your reply and Stay Well! ❤️

I go to my local health food store but I also get it from IHerb or Whole Foods.

Here’s a link to IHerb and please feel free to use my code below to get a discount! I think 5%. Please let me know if you try it and your thoughts!

It cleared up my sinus congestion (as you can see from my original post looking for a solution) as well as cleared up the mucus in my chest. I think it’s also helping with my allergies as I haven’t needed to take any allergy medication. I use to take it all the time and once my asthma flared up for whatever reason I stopped tasking it until my son mentioned using NAC! Then I remembered these pills has NAC in them! Research NAC and all the other herbs this pill has. I only took one pill and felt an immediate difference in my sinuses. I would ck out the reviews on iHerb and make sure it’s ok for you to take ( don’t know what other medicines you may be on). Good stuff! I also use Thyme extract to control coughing! Better than cough syrup! Also I only use Ricollo original (only) to control coughing as well! Good luck and stay well!
