It's been a long time since I last posted here and I hope everyone is doing fine during lock-down in 2020? Sadly this year my wonderful Mum died very suddenly in May after a fall at home and she also had illnesses which kicked up a gear and she caught covid19. The hospital told us she had very early stage dementia. She died on May 15th, she was only 71. I was able to see her before she left us but we were unable to be with her as she passed away.
Her funeral was tough only 10 close family. Life has changed fully. I know she's at peace and in a better place now. We are taking one step at a time. Keep Swimming one day at a time.
I turned 40 on August 9th and now I am worried about the dreaded menopause. I have been very itchy over the last few days and I read it's a sign it's happening. I do have 2 cats and we have fleaed them but we see little black fleas or flies around the house. I know the menopause will happen but I hope it won't kick in this early!
Any advice on the itching? Could it be grief or anything. I have asked to talk to a doctor this week.
Keep safe all

Hello
So sorry to hear about your loss
The world seems to be changing in so many ways it can be daunting
I would try not to look to far ahead , the menopause happens and some women have it really easy , there is no saying when the time comes you will not be one of them
I have been going through it years now and not had a great time , had every symptom it can throw at you but not come across itching before even though my anxiety can make me itch
From my experience you know without questioning it when you are going through the menopause , you could still be a little young yet even though not impossible for it to start now , there is a blood test your Doctor can do which gives a good marker to what your hormones are doing and if you have started in the change could be something to ask if the will do ?
I wish you all the best for the future and hope better times are soon to come
I had a blood test this morning and had a chat with a nurse. I told her my fears and she said don’t panic. I’m young and have gone through a huge grief this year. Keep an eye on how I am feeling and if it gets worse call them back. She said I am having a hormone check with my bloods so that will give us an idea. I think people love to joke about it but I do worry a lot . I know it’s normal for women to go through it but it scares me
I am glad you have had the tests done hopefully the results will give you peace of mind
Every stage in our life's can be frightening but just tell yourself all women go through this and it is ok , maybe unpleasant for some but there are things like HRT if we need them to help us get through and like I said you possibly will sail through it I know so many that have
Let us know the results and yes you have been through a lot this year so that might be making the fear that little bit more heightened but I am sure what you are thinking will not be reality x
I just spoke to my Aunty and she had her menopause at 40 and my cousin was about the same age. She told me just wait for the outcome of the test and then see what happens. She also added take all the drugs available and it’s not that bad. I will wait and see what happens tomorrow
She did make me laugh when she said it. Also she said it’s not a nice thing have to experience but just get on with it and cope the best I can if or when it happens. I do feel better after taking to her
Bloods were normal. For the last few days I’ve had a high temperature, my whole body feels like it’s on fire. I said to the receptionist about this and she informed me to get tested for COVID-19 just be safe. So I booked myself a slot at 7pm this evening and the results will be back 2-5 days. It was uncomfortable back of throat and up the nose but it’s done now. My Dad feels I’m being silly but the temperature is awful
Well at least for now you don not have to worry about the menopause
Have you taken your temperature ?
Sometimes I can feel read hot be sweating yet my temperature is normal
There also seems to be some sore throats going about , I think this is going to be such a problem now we are getting to those seasons where there are virus's and things we are all going to be on red alert is it covid , but best to get a test , I am sure you will be fine , and hopefully it will be back in a couple of days and that will be another one less worry x
My chest and back is on fire. I was told that’s a sign it’s high. I just wanted to be safe. I think a lot of what is going on could be down to losing Mum and it’s hitting me hard with symptoms. I’m going to relax over the weekend and the doctor will call me next week to take another month from work
I have a date for a hormone test this Wednesday afternoon. I’m trying not to get upset over the feeling it’s the menopause but I’m a state. Cousin told me it’s normal and will be ok but I’m reading horror stories online
Can I ask about one symptom of the menopause? My chest, face and ears are boiling hot all day long. I have tingling skin too. I thought a hot flush comes and goes.
Hello again. Well I’ve had two bloods taken and both claim I’m normal. Again I spoke to the doctor who said it’s down to grief and I shouldn’t worry about it. I’m still burning up all day and all night. She did offer me antidepressants but I said no right now. I am going off the pill to see what happens with that side of things. This heating issues is really getting me down
