Hello everyone. I hope you’re all doing well. I’m really struggling today. I just feel so depressed and sad. My head is freaking me out. I keep getting little spots of numbness on my head and I keep getting headaches. I have the worst health anxiety. I’m just looking for some positive thoughts and inputs. I’m really struggling today.

Hang in there. The headaches are common with anxiety. I actually took some tylenol for it today

I discovered Claire Weekes and love her work. Check her out! I had PTSD before my nervous breakdown 6 months ago or so and this has been the hardest thing for me to do..."accept". You aren't alone, don't give up.

I'm sorry to hear that. We are here for you. We all struggle and suffer from something similar. Hopefully you found some relief. My day is winding down over here. Hanging out with my friend, the tv :) Voice is on again tonight :) Tomorrow is another day :)

"When we stop RESISTING and fighting our thoughts and concerns, the battle stops." Tamara Levitt. Sounds easy. It is possible. But it must become a habit and we have to reprogram ourselves to to stop the resistance.

From what I read you wrote, it sounds like you've identified you have health anxiety. That's GREAT! You've identified that you know your health issues are dancing around your head and you're probably in really good health. I've been dealing with (the common) stinging and tightness in my chest on and off (heart attacks don't come and go) for several months. As I sit and type my chest is fine. But once it starts to get my attention I could be stressed and worry all day long. I won't give up though.

One day I feel like I can do anything and I go to grocery, walk at the park, go bowling. Then, due to the weather as well, I'm stuck in the house. When I am stuck in the house I feel every little thing in my body (Princess and the Pea) and can let it run off and I am on total high alert. I pull out my tool box and continue to try to get better though trying to hard and resisting is my problem. When I say "Okay, if this weird thing in my chest is going to kill me let it do so". I sit and stare at my chest. Nothing happens. It sort of takes the steam out of it.

HEADACHES. Ugh. Which kind do you have? I've had at least 3 different kinds my entire life.

MIGRAINE WITH AURA (flashing lights) that I've almost completely gotten rid of by taking magnesium daily. One year I forgot to buy them and they came back monthly. I racked my brain asking myself "why are they back? what have I done differently?" and when I realized I had stopped buying magnesium, went and got some at the grocery & they went away. Like to only once or twice a year. PS: I have found that if I take a .25mg Xanax and 2 liquid Advil I don't get the headache once the aura is gone. I continue to take 2 Advil for 3 days even if I don't have a headache as a precaution.

Then there's the SUGAR HEADACHE. The elusive headache that no one wants to believe because it comes the day AFTER lots of sugary stuff or the day after I've had fun at a party. My family believes and will even say "Mom, don't do it you're going to get a headache". I've been off sugar in 2019 mostly. I'll have some jelly on a sandwich, and twice I've had a couple ounces of ice cream at a restaurant. But that's it. And guess what? No sugar headaches.

Then there is the STRESS HEADACHE. Worrying about my health. Ruminating. High anxiety and the next day I will get one of those headaches that starts of slow so I don't take anything. Then, it grows and grows and might even wake me in the middle of the night and by the time I take something it's pretty much too late.

ANYONE RELATE!? The reason I talked about myself so much is that I believe that when we know we're not alone (and crazy) it sometimes helps by taking the steam out of the anxiety. ALSO, since I have been able to get rid of my headaches by about 90% or more I wanted to share in hopes that someone might see themselves in me and try...

Walking (hard to do in winter and/or if one is fearful of going out)

Avoiding Sugar

Getting good sleep (calm.com has some good sleep meditations)

Exposure therapy (going out in public slowly and getting used to it)

Have a super day or maybe just a normal day would be nice.

:-)

Hello Savgresh4.

I can understand what you are doing through. Want you to know that you are not alone. I know it can be a struggle to shake it of sometimes. I found this site with inspiration and articles of people with anxiety. bit.ly/2mFxWoz I have looked for inspirational quote and messages that I keep reading and listen most of the time during the day and during my breaks. You have to learn to talk yourself out with positive things. Tell yourself that if you have survived it up till know then you’ve got what it takes to deal with it and possible overcome. You are a survivor and an overcomer. God’s grace is always sufficient for you and His strength is made perfect in your weakness. So when you feel that you cannot push forward ask God to strengthen you. Praying and hoping you feel better soon.
