Hello all I’m having a really horrible day. I’ve been in and out of the toilet, my face is numbing and I get fast heart beat on and off. I’m thinking of the plane tomorrow cause I’m doing a four hour flight. I’m thinking of taking a Xanax tonight. Any advices please?

Major attack. Any advice?
Hello Stephanie_M & Welcome
Your anxiety is high but you know the reason which is a positive in some ways as you do not have extra fear what is causing it you know this long flight is behind why you feel so bad
4 hours seems a lot I know but it will soon go quick
By the time you are on that plane , the trolley comes round etc before you know it you will be getting back of again
Take things with you to distract yourself , magazines , music , games , writing material whatever distracts you have it in your bag ready
If you feel anxious tell yourself it is fine , it is going to pass and believe in yourself you can do it because I know you can and will
Not sure where you are going on this flight but think of the rewards at the other end you are either going home or somewhere nice
And yes I would take a tablet if it is going to help calm you down why not , you are taking it for a valid reason
Let s know how you get on , you can do this
Take Care x
Thank you so much for your advice. I think I’ll have a look at it again before boarding. I will let you know how it went 🙂
Hi Stephanie_M!
How are you doing now? I think you could do things that soothe and distract you like a bath or a movie. Oooh also deep breathing or listening to nature sounds or a guided meditation or reflection.
The worrying and what if’s always make the future event seem bad but really once you get on the plane I bet you’ll find it a lot easier to be there than originally thought. That’s typically the case with me. Best to you!
