Major attack. Any advice?

Hello all I’m having a really horrible day. I’ve been in and out of the toilet, my face is numbing and I get fast heart beat on and off. I’m thinking of the plane tomorrow cause I’m doing a four hour flight. I’m thinking of taking a Xanax tonight. Any advices please?

Hello Stephanie_M & Welcome :-)

Your anxiety is high but you know the reason which is a positive in some ways as you do not have extra fear what is causing it you know this long flight is behind why you feel so bad

4 hours seems a lot I know but it will soon go quick :-)

By the time you are on that plane , the trolley comes round etc before you know it you will be getting back of again :-)

Take things with you to distract yourself , magazines , music , games , writing material whatever distracts you have it in your bag ready

If you feel anxious tell yourself it is fine , it is going to pass and believe in yourself you can do it because I know you can and will :-)

Not sure where you are going on this flight but think of the rewards at the other end you are either going home or somewhere nice :-)

And yes I would take a tablet if it is going to help calm you down why not , you are taking it for a valid reason :-)

Thank you so much for your advice. I think I’ll have a look at it again before boarding. I will let you know how it went 🙂

Hi Stephanie_M!

How are you doing now? I think you could do things that soothe and distract you like a bath or a movie. Oooh also deep breathing or listening to nature sounds or a guided meditation or reflection.

The worrying and what if’s always make the future event seem bad but really once you get on the plane I bet you’ll find it a lot easier to be there than originally thought. That’s typically the case with me. Best to you!
