Hello friends...: This is my first post... - Living with Anxiety
Hello friends...
Hello jyo123 & Welcome
Sounds like at the moment it is Anxiety winning and you feel like you are loosing but this can all change given time and the right support and we all have or feel the way you do so you are certainly not alone
It is never good when we are at war with ourselves as we never win , maybe surrendering and accepting what is happening might make us stop been in battle with this anxiety even though easier said than done
Have you always suffered with anxiety or is it because you are trying to change directions in life ad start on a new path that has cause anxiety to pop along thinking it has found a new home and someone else to torment !
Have you any support or taking anything to help ?
Sorry for all the questions which you don't have to answer , just trying to get the bigger picture so we know best how we could maybe help you
We are very quite on here but hopefully when others come on and maybe are doing a post or just having a look round they will say hello to you to
Take Care x
Thanks a lot lulu... yeah these days my life isn't going so well so am always Low ....no am currently not on any medication.. only had a motivational session.. yet I don't seem to change much.. am so Glad dt u replied lulu.. so thankful to you.. god bless 🤞🏻
Hello
Small changes , this is something that cannot be rushed but step by step you can and will get better
Have you thought of having any Therapy ?
Keep coming on and talking , hopefully that may help even if in a small way x
Thanks lulu ... Yeah I hv thought abt having therapy.. I hv attended a session recently also.. interactive one but I hvnt improved much...
Give things time , and if at any stage you feel you need more therapy then go back if you can and have some more , sometimes it takes several attempts before we really benefit from it
I know you say you have not improved much but we are always so negative myself included and I bet you have made some progress no matter how small it is progress , try and focus on the small things you have achieved and feel good about yourself for doing that because when we have anxiety every small thing is a massive one to us yet we choose not to see it when we should
A day at a time you will slowly improve x
Thanks a loot lulu...god bless you
Hi jyo123
Welcome to the site.
Sorry to hear you are feeling as you are. I can completely relate to how you are feeling and I often also feel like I am at war with myself - and I get sudden thoughts about past events that then go on to worry me and make me anxious for ages when really I should not even think of it. Then the thoughts just go around and around and It is very hard to control when we feel like this.
If you haven’t already tried mindfulness ,it’s worth a go, the anxiety section on the app headspace is really good for thoughts and how to re train your mind. It’s been a massive help for me. When things are stressful i must admit it’s harder to do and have such positive effect as sometimes anxiety is stronger than anything we try. But it can defiantly help. also if you haven’t already CBT is very good if it’s available to you
I wish well and hope that you can start to feel better soon
I am so sorry you are struggling. I have walked the same route and must say that there can be a calm in the midst of that storm. For myself, I replace my thinking. As each negative thought comes in, I actually have to slow breathe and redirect the thoughts to positive, truths. It takes work but it is life changing.
I also fill my mind with positive things such as movies, worship music, prayer, good books, etc. The more we fill positive in our life, the more positive comes out.
New situations can be very stressful and if you are not seeing a medical professional that could be a great first step. I personally had a prescription medicine for my asthma that was causing my body great anxiety! Sometimes other medications, lack of sleep and our diet can affect our anxiety levels.
Slow breathing does not help everyone in the moment, sometimes it is a habitual practice that will help you in a long run, so if you try the deep breathing don't give up. Regular slow breathing sessions at bedtime and when most anxious. Deep breath through the nose, hold for 10 sec and slow breath out of the mouth.
I pray that you find the peace that your heart is needing and that your mind will redirect to the truths of your situations that are life-giving and not destruction. I pray for a hope and great expectation of good things to flood your mind.
Best wishes!
