After my really bad panic attack the other night that lead me to thinking I might be having a heart attack, I talked to my primary care doctor and got a prescription got Lexapro. I'm hoping it will help me eventually, because things have recently become frankly unmanageable.
I'm noticing a pattern over the last three days of taking it, a sudden spike in anxiety 2.5-3hr after taking the Lexapro. If nothing else, taking this med will give me practice with deep breathing and positive self-talk! Cross your fingers it helps get me closer to 'normal' again. I have three little kids and a nursling; I need to be functional.

Well good for you , if things have got that bad then what harm can trying medication do ?
You may be finding after that your anxiety peaks because you will be thinking about the fact you have taken one even if you don't release you are
Sometimes with these medications we do get side effects but if you stick in there they do subside
It can take a coupe of months before you really start to feel the benefit but hopefully then you will

Hey there ~ will just give those meds a try it usually takes a while before they kick in properly. You are doing really well and taken a BIG step to get help
Keep in touch on here ~ don't be alone in this .🙂x
Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with this medication or what category it falls under ie anti-anxiety medication. You were very brave to take the initiative by visiting your Doctor. It may take a while for the medication to take full effect in your system. You're right you cannot function properly without sleep.
I have felt the same way recently. I’ve had 2 EKGS done and a heart monitor because my anxiety feels like a heart attack and chest pain on a daily basis.... I know the feeling! I am a mommy too, makes it so scary! I personally haven’t tried Lexapro yet, my dr prescribed me it but I’m nervous to try it! I am hoping Lexapro helps you!! Keep me updated
I've been in it for about five weeks, and it's been a complete turnaround for me. I'd forgotten what feeling content was like. I'm enjoying my kids and my life SO much more! It was worth the very mild side effects I had for the first couple weeks
