I’ve had mild chest pain for 2 days but when I woke up this morning it turning into an icy hot burning. Sort of like I put bengay on my chest. Is this normal? I also feel a little short of breath but that might be me being paranoid.

Hello sydneykieng
This could be made worse as you will no doubt be feeling anxious but I would get it checked out with your Doctor , they can examine you and make sure everything is ok which will give you reassurance
Let us know how you get on
Take Care x
Hi there ~ I agree with what lulu has said really. Best to go to your GP and see what they advise. Here in the UK we can call 111 for any medical assistance ~ but see you are in the US. Guess you may have something similar ~ so if you are concerned may be give them a call.
Try not to get yourself in too much of a state. 🙂
Hello again
Just had a quick look at some of your posts and sorry your Mum had heart problems but I think that is now what could be playing on your mind and getting you in a panic as you say you have already had a clean bill of health after you had your heart tested
I get Health Anxiety as I have suffered myself and still can and it usually stems from something that we have witnessed and the seed gets planted in the mind and the fear becomes real to us , but you are not your Mum but an individual and there is no medical evidence that says what happened to your Mum will happen to you
Maybe you could benefit from some talking Counselling as what we need to do is get our thinking into reverse and see things for what they are which is irrational fears even though I know they feel so real when we are having them
If in doubt though I would still say talk with your Doctor but if again they say you are fine ( which I feel they will ) then tell them how much this is affecting you and what help can they offer even if you have had help before ask for more
There is always someone to chat to if you need to talk x
I get this from anxiety. It's a common symptom of an anxiety attack, not to be confused with a panic attack. Anxiety attacks are a long a slow build-up of chronic stress. Once it starts it's hard not to concentrate on it and make it worse. I find putting a sock filled with rice heated in the micro on my chest helps. I use to worry about it but I've had that one so often that I now know it's stress and not a serious medical issue so that helps me get rid of it sooner. I take it as a sign that I'm stressing too much over something. I've been told by a doctor it might be fibromyalgia but once I knew it wasn't serious I could calm down and get rid of it in a few days.
