Yes hun. I'm sure everyone on the forum has called an ambulance at least once for panic attack. As it feels like you are dying.
I’ve called 911 many times bc I was having a panic attack. Strangers have called 911 when seeing me having a panic attack in public, on the subway. It is absolutely terrifying and hard to explain what it feels like to someone who’s never experienced one. It took years for me to come to grips with the fact that anxiety is just a part of who I am. Acceptance was hard. Letting go was hard and sometimes still is. I’ve tried meds for years which just masked the problem, even creating new symptoms. The best thing I did for myself was get off of anxiety meds. I still have anxiety, but I haven’t had a panic attack in a few years. When I feel those scary sensations creep up, I ride it out. I let go and allow it to move through me without fighting it. It’s like riding a roller coaster and it’s still very scary but I know what it is. I know it will pass. I know I’m not losing my mind. I know I’m not going to die. It helps talking about it to anyone who is willing to listen. Sooo many people have the same problem or know someone who does.
I’m so sorry you’re having panic attacks, but know you are not alone! You’ll move through this. Make sure you take care of your mind and body. Exercise, meditate, eat right, don’t drink alcohol or caffeine if you can help it or at least decrease your intake. For me, reading as much about how anxiety works and reading self help anxiety workbooks really helped as well. The more I know, the less I’m afraid. Good luck to you!
oh yes ive had it so bad i drove straight to my doctors office.
