Morning Upforhappy,

Your right about that. Love the name by the way. Fantastic name!!

Hello & Welcome :-)

I am sorry you are struggling to eat , anxiety always seems to affect us one way or the other and whichever way it does it feeds of that fear and the more we focus on it the more fearful we are and it becomes a viscous circle

Have you been and spoken to your Doctor about how your anxiety is affecting you ?

Of course lack f food can make us feel sick as well as feeling anxious , maybe you could just try simple things like a slice of toast , or a biscuit but if you can make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids maybe milky drinks if you can stomach them this will also help

This is something that so many anxiety suffer's go through but be reassured that it does get better :-)

Take Care x

I know how you feel and it’s rubbish isn’t it 😞. One of my friends said to me about a year ago - you always feel sick. This was long before I knew it was anxiety.

Now I just try to take it easy. You can’t force yourself to eat if you don’t feel like it but make sure you keep your fluids up. Try and drink lots of water and as Lulu says why not try something dry that’s not too rich. I tend to have a couple of crackers and a big glass of water when I feel like this.

I hope the feel subsides a little for you 😊 x

I too had the same feelings when I was first suffering depression.

I lost a lot of weight and only started eating properly again when my antidepressants kicked in.

I just used to eat what I fancied which was chocolate but that was better than nothing.

My problem now is I can’t stop eating lol.

Hope this helps x

It’s hard to recommend a certain one as everyone reacts differently to antidepressants.

I have found the best one for me was venlafaxine but sometimes you have to try a few before you find one that suits you.

Good luck and keep us informed on your progress.

Did you have bad side effects when trying different ssri's?

Yes I have but I started taking them in 1986 and have tried a few as after a few years on one they stop working and It’s trial and error till I find another one that suits me.

I have been on sertraline for the past 4 years but they don’t help the anxiety much.

Was on venlafaxine for 14 years before they stopped working.

Are you on any medication?

Doc switched me from sertraline which didn't seem to be helping at 50mg, actually tried going up to 150 on the sertraline but made me so anxious. Then we tapered down to 50 again and she started me on 10 mg of prozac ,went up to 20 and she added seroquel at bedtime.ive been taking about 1mg a day of clonezapam but it isn't working for me like it did with my first anxiety experience. Have to call her on Monday..... have to get some ssri onboard somehow.... on the 10 mg prozac and 50 mg seroquel at night....feel anxious and nauseous all day😞

Good luck for Monday 🤞

Hi there and welcome😊Oh yes been there done that got the t shirt. I had a bad episode just a couple of weeks ago when I woke up during the night feeling really sick. This went on for some time ( but was never sick just felt like it). Every now and then I get these episodes. I drink ginger tea to ease off the feeling or peppermint since I suffer with IBS as well ~which usually does help.Believe it or not after I get over the sickness feeling I always crave something like fish and chips ~daft I know 😁.Ive always had what they used to call "a nervous tummy " been like this since I was a child. Just stick with simple foods May be boiled egg and soldiers to dip in or soup ~something that goes down easy. Hope you are feeling better today and take comfort in knowing you are not alone in how you are feeling ~Just another nasty part of Anxiety I'm afraid 😥😥
