I've been unwell for two months now, I've been to the hospital about 4 times, they Say I've been surffing from a viral infection, bit surely it wouldn't go on for two months? I've developed symptoms of a chronic sinus infection, I've got constant pressure in my head, front and back. the doctor said I've also got a middle ear infection because she can see fluid in both ears, I've got constant ringing noises in my ears that drives me crazy! I sometimes have to put tissue in my ears just to drown at the high pitched tones, I'm also having pain in my neck and back, also in my chest! I've always got drainage down the back of my throat and i have trouble swallowing and moving my jaw with also pain. My blood test results so that i've got a low white count and a vitamin d deficiency. I'm feel so dizzy and sick too. I'm very worried about it because I have symptoms of so many horrible things such as different cancers. I feel as though I aren't getting the right help from the doctors, please sure any helpful information, i'm thinking of going for an MRI, would it be worth it in this case? As my migraines are quite bad, thank you!

Hello :-)

I can actually relate to you quite a bit here

I started with sinus infections over 15 years ago and am always on antibiotics for them , then I started getting ringing in my ears and ear infections , same with the drainage in the back of the throat and I went for a sinus wash yet that did nothing at all and it does make you feel so ill as you feel you are infected all the time and no matter how better you get you feel it has never quite gone and it flares back up again

Have you been referred to the ears nose and throat at the hospital because that would be the first thing I would ask to be referred to and if you have then yes if you feel it could give you answers then ask for a MRI scan , tell your Doctor you cannot go on like this ad make it clear what you want

Still they have never got to the bottom of what mine is and I think part of me has learnt to live with it even though it does get me down

Let us now how you get on and if you want to talk you know you can always pop on and someone will be around :-)

Hope you have the best Christmas you can :-)

Take Care x

Hi lulu1, thanks for your reply,

The doctors said that they would make a urgent appointment at the ent clinic but I won't get it until March! It's literally such a horrible feeling waiting around not knowing what's wrong with you! The high pitched tones in my ears are always there! It never goes:( did you suffer with problems with your jaw and neck too? My neck has started make these horrible crunching noises when I move it, it's really getting me down as it's been going on for 3 months now, I always make myself worse by going on the internet and diagnosing myself with the worst possible courses!

Thank you for your advice,

Kayley.

I forgot say to ask, how long did it take for the ringing in yours ears to stop? Mine never goes at the moment .

Hello :-)

It affects my neck and also my teeth

The ringing in your ears is tinnitus this is very common when you have ear nose and throat issues , I know the noise drives you mad but you end up getting used to it , I sleep with a fan on all night which helps me to stop focusing in on the noise

Please stay of the internet , it won't be cancer , if they thought for one minute it was that they would not say your referral will take till March would be more than their job was worth and they know what to look and hear what you are saying to have enough qualifications to know if this is something they need to fast track someone through the system , and Google well it will tell you the worse scenario yet it can't examine you does not have your medical records so anything that says is not relevant to you

I also think the more anxious we are the worse these symptoms get to

My vitamin D is low very low so if they have not prescribed you any then go and get yourself some , I have a spray you spray in your mouth once a day from Holland & Barrett's it does help so make sure you get some vitamin D back in you

I would let them refer you , I know March seems for ever but really it is not that long we are nearly in January already and who knows your appointment could be the 1st of March which would be about 10 weeks away and you never know once you are referred your appointment could come sooner , I think they have to tell us the longest wait we could have to wait but a lot of the time it can be quicker :-) x

Hi lulu10, thanks for replying, yes the tinnitus is very unpleasant, I find it hard to be in loud places too as it hurts my ears and makes the noises louder. I never in my life suffered with any of these symptoms. 3 months ago I was just sitting in a restaurant, I felt like i couldn't swallow probably, then I had very strange feeling come over me and that's when everything changed and i haven't been right ever since. I think that's why I thing it's something bad like cancer because I never experienced this. I been ill in the past and always recovered but not this time x

I know what you mean but unfortunately these types of things do come on out of no where

It could be a virus that is lingering but ENT will be able to tell you and give you the right treatment but it won't be what you are fearing that is your anxiety telling you that as it has found a way in to try and keep a hold on you which at the moment it is doing a good job , but get referred and I bet you it is not the worse scenario and I think till you do no matter what others say you are going to just keep worrying so for your peace of mind I think letting them take a look will be the best thing you could do :-) x

The doctors are saying different things too, one doctor suspects I have an inner ear disturbance so she said that they've made an urgent appointment to the ENT and i will get seen to within the month but obviously that hasn't happened! I have been seeing another doctor and she says I've got a middle ear infection, ive got fluid in both ears, so don't know what to think! X

Keep it simple , let them refer you to the experts who specialise in ears nose and throat they will sort you out :-) x
