Magnesium?

Has anyone tried magnesium as a supplement to help control their anxiety? A friend and I have been doing some research and a lot of good articles are out there about how it really helped some people. I really want to get my anxiety all the way in control. Thanks for any input

Funnily enough I have been taking magnesium for a few months now for other reasons simply because I read somewhere that a high percentage of adults in the uk are deficient in it due to our food being grown in soil that is becoming over worked. I thought it might help with my constant lethargy. I hadn't thought about the effect it may have on my mood I was more concerned with tiredness. But now you mention it normally at this time of year post Christmas dull dreary January I am deep down in the doldrums wishing I hadn't woken up each morning and really sad. At the moment though I feel fine more confident and assertive than usual. I wonder if there is a connection. Maybe.

I hope it helps you. I eat a very healthy diet and take magnesium- and have taken it for some years in the hopes it would help my migraines(no). It has not helped my anxiety but that is not to say it won't help yours. I have a friend (who has had serious illnesses) who swears by turmeric for pain. Never did anything for me. I still take both because I figure it can't hurt. People react differently to vitamins, minerals and medications- my doctor wanted me to take ranitidine but it made me very lightheaded and dizzy- he seemed to think that was odd. However, I stopped taking it (the only change I made) and those symptoms are largely gone.

Magnesium

I was convinced that I had a deficiency and that supplements would help . I was so disappointed when after years of trying to get a doctor to test my level one finally did and it came back fine .really wanted that to be the answer oh well back to the drawing board! !!
