I have had a great 2 weeks with very minimal anxiety symptoms but the chest tightness and odd shooting pain wont go away. The doc ended up giving me gastro pills as aparantly could be the reason for my left side and chest pain which it has eased it a little. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated x

Fed up of chest tightness and pain:(
Hi jojo
Just spotted this before I was about to rush of & get some jobs done as I feel I could about to get the sack as a housewife if that is possible !
You are very focused on your chest , it seems one of your main fears which I understand as I have HA & over the years when I have zoomed in on one thing nothing & no one has been able to convince me that everything will be ok till I slowly have had to change my way of thinking & trust in my GP which even now at times I don't always find easy depending on how much of a concern it is to me
When we are anxious or even at times when we are doing well we can still by tense & not recognize it that can cause the muscles to tense & really does leave some pain
You have had all the checks & I am sure the doctor has no reason to think this is anything serious or they would have had you in as it would be more than their job was worth
Also over the years I have suffered with terrible indigestion IBS due to anxiety & I have had severe pains that have stuck & took weeks even months before they have eased it is like pockets of air getting trapped causing the pain , & it is unpleasant but not harmful
Try the medication the GP has given you & make sure even though you may not feel like it that you eat regular meals but keep away maybe from greasy & spicy things & take notice of certain foods & if when you eat them they make it worse , I had to adjust my diet & take out quite a few of the foods I really liked but it did help
I am not sure if this will have been helpful but wanted to let you no we are about on here & I had read your post

Hi there
Whywhy has said it all really but I would like to add a suggestion.
Have you looked into Mindfulness?
It's a great way to get focused and relaxed. Check out Headspace and calm.com
Take care xx

Hi jojo x Hi Sorry to hear your suffering in this way, but if you are holding onto tension from being over anxious it can cause muscle strain and aches and such, try to relax all of your body a few times a day and do some breathing exercises to see if it helps x Remind yourself that its only anxiety and it will pass xx Hope your feeling better soon x Donver x
Thanks donver I will try this aswell. Its just annoying as I really don't feel stressed at the moment. X
