4 years ago I was told via a scan for gallstones I was told I had a fatty liver its interesting because the consultant said its caused by sugar including juice and carbohydrates . Also I've read that most of us will have peripheral fats around our organs and when you start to lose weight the first thing to go which we dont see is the fat around our organs my fatty liver did not show up in a blood test that was all ok . So now I am going to start cutting out as many carbs as I can but I do like a bowl of porridge or one Weetabix . I will still eat carrots as I think they are good for you. Its difficult. One friend I have has a no carb day and the next some carbs as her weight gas been stable. . I've always had a sweet tooth and that is what i have to stop. I also read that losing too much weight too quickly is also not good for the liver. A doctor years ago told me once you dont need carbohydrates . I also have to be careful as I've had pancreatitis and you have to have a low fat diet. Even my vet told me that when my cat had pancreatitis!!! I dont eat beef burgers or steak it too hard for me to digest. So I stick to fish salmon and chicken.

Carbohydrates sugar abs non alcoholic fatty liver disease
I am also trying the low carbs route, but because I have the potential to be diabetic. So need to retrain myself and my diet. Here is to day 2 !!!
I have found that the faster I lose weight, the more comes from my visceral fat. I lost 7+kg and 10cm off my waist in a month, but then in the following 4 months I lost another 5kg but only one cm off my waist. I am not sure the impact on liver fat, as I haven't had that measured.
Not sure I see the point of a carb free day.
No that's interesting though re weight. People can lose it then it plateaus . It's only what the consultant told me but then I guess that can happen if you keep stuffing your face with carbs that turn into sugar and what the body doesnt burn off it deposits it as fat. I dont think I'll do the low carb high fat diet either as I know people have lost weight on it but a friend of mine was eating a lot of full fat cheese and cream and her cholesterol levels went up. !! I think sensible veg and smaller portions etc are just as good. May be slower but losing too much weight too quick isnt good .
