I am reading all the reviews on this product and people are all talking about when they are in a state of keytosis. How do you tell if you are or not? I am doing the low carb and eating oily foods / butters etc and slowly losing weight but I don’t feel any different. I never got this flu they talk about and my energy levels are good anyway. ( just my life that’s depressing and gets me down) So am I missing a big bit of this diet ?

Don't worry, I've not really had keto flu either, but I've checked using the urine strips, and I'm in ketosis. The levels of ketones built up over about 36 hours.

wow Didn’t realise people did that - urine strips. I must actually read more about this diet as I just assumed it’s all happening anyhow as the weight is slowly coming down.

I don't think many use them, but I was curious, and they're pretty cheap.

I also want to use them to increase my carb allowance a little bit, and see what point I start dropping out of ketosis.

The strips only give you a positive reading until you are stable in Ketosis. I used them at the start, and though I had dropped out after a while, but seems that once you are established in it, you would need blood testing to confirm it. i think it is because you are then using the keytones so it no longer registers in urine? Not 100% sure of the reason.

This is a TOTAL rip off.

You make your own ketones when you go down the LCHF road.

If you think this is a short cut, think again!

That’s what I thought. Diet pill syndrome

Personally I would say rip off. If your eating low carb high your body will produce its own ketones,i think when it starts to burn its own fat. Not entirely sure on the physics of it. But in my opinion taking ketone, if that's what they actually are, would be a total waste of time and money.

I have a bulletproof coffee every six months, & notice a slight difference in energy, but it could be psychosomatic. The type made with butter seems to be as effective as the type made with MCT oil.
