Platelets down to 3,000

my mom has had ITP for 3 years. She has had any types of treatment, that only work for a short time. The latest was having her spleen out. Now she is down to 3,000, even though she is on massive doses of Prednisone. The have started her in Vincristine. Has anyone had success with this ? Need some ideas please

I can certainly share with you the treatments I have had.... Prednisolone 5 times, Azathioprine once, Rituximab twice, Mychophenolate Mofetil (MMF) now.

It is probably easier to refer you to my ITP blog as it sets out my whole story but I have responded to all of the treatments positively except Azathioprine which I simply could not tolerate ( very dizzy, sick, feverish). All the others gave me remission but I lapsed. Now on Mychophenolate Mofetil since April 2016 and is working well for me thank goodness..

No success only N Plate works for me keeps me at 123000 so I am close to normal. Rituxan works for alot 9f people but didn't for me.

Hi Beach311, how is your mom doing now? How does the rest of her blood look, ie. Hemoglobin, bilirubin, etc.? Have her platelets increased from 3?
