Hi, most of the time I don't think about what happened. However beinga senior NHS worker thesecond wave of corona has been much harder on my mental wellbeing. Finding more flash blacks, having to go back to night sedation due to insomnia.. I constantly feel so tired, quite low in mood.....it feels ive gone backwards...😔😪
Any little virus floors me and I seem to take much longer to recover from even simple colds... its so debilitating

If I pick up any sort of infection, it seems to become quite serious each time. The only good thing is I bounce back as quickly as I go down hill. There is a lot of talk of post sepsis syndrome and it leaving us with ME like symptoms. The world takes ‘long Covid’ seriously but not PICS or PSS - the only good thing about Covid is that it has raised the profile of all of our suffering. Yes - we battled to survive ICU but that is only the beginning of the Herculean task we have ahead of us.
I'm sorry I can't offer anything more than sympathy. Post sepsis recovery is a long, long road. I also want to say thank you, to you and all your NHS colleagues for your Herculean efforts during this pandemic.
