So sorry to hear this, but I would appeal this decision! Go to the CAB and ask them to help you. I decided not to apply, but CAB were going to work through the form with me! The forms are designed to catch you out (this from someone who used to design these forms) . The assessments are more focused on physical ill health and not mental ill health and are done by private companies who only care about money! Over 70% of appeals are overturned and are done by an independent panel and not a company that wants to make money😬.

I’ve heard of people who have been given 2 points by assessors and when it has gone to appeal they have been given 25 points!

I understand it is extra stress, but it seems to be worthwhile🙏🤣

Hi, did you have a look at the breakdown of the points awarded section ? I would focus on these and appeal. As you know it's a long arduous process .

Can you walk unaided ? Do you need support dressing and washing etc ? If you can't see how many points you got in this area etc...

It probably came as a shock to you hence the added anxiety. Try not to worry too much, I know it's easier said than done , just try to get help to support the appeal.

Hi. So first of all let me give you my declarations! I’ve not applied for this and have no experience of the process.

However I do understand that a high number of PIP applications are rejected first time round. Secondly majority of these are approved when you appeal ( circa 75%).

Finally the reason for first time rejection is often that the form, which is arduous to complete, is incorrectly filled in.

Strongly recommend you contact your local Citizens Advice bureau. Also look at the citizens advice website

They are very used to this issue you’re facing. Secondly, I know that in the condition I am in I would feel I needed help to complete the document.

A cynic might think the reason the form is so hard to complete and the process is so arduous is because they actively want to discourage claims. Don’t be discouraged. Get support ! Good luck !
