Ovarian cystectomy laparoscopy missing cyst wrong side?

Just had a laparoscopy to remove a 3cm ovarian dermoid cyst. But when I came round the nurse said they didn't find the cyst.... The incision is on the wrong side of my pelvis. Could they have looked on the wrong side? Were 2 ultrasound scans wrong? Can dermoid cyst disappear? I've been having dreadful pelvic pain around ovulation time, sometimes lasting a week and needing painkillers... Any thoughts anyone? Been told I have chronic constipation too due to headache medication. Great.
