Pneumonia on a breathing machine
Hi Erica my brother was in ICu for 3 weeks he was placed in an induced coma . He is a diabetic as well. He was put on dialysis twice during that time. I was out of my mind with worry. He didn't recognise me or know where he was most of the time when they stopped the sedation . He suffered delerium which was so upsetting for our family as we didnt know if this was normal or was it brain damage or what. We are now 5 weeks down the line my brother has recovered mentally almost back to normal. His kidneys have recovered he is no longer on dialysis and he is receiving physiotherapy to help him walk again. I just wanted to reassure you dont lose hope as the body has a wonderful way of recovering. Hope your sister improves soon .
Thank you for sharing your story, my sister had a step back yesterday at 2am we received a call telling us she had to have shocks as her heart was beating too hard, this is the hardest thing and I feel like things are not getting better but then we all continue strong with our hope and faith to her recovery. Today will be eight days she has been induced and in the breading machine but we continue to be by her side full of hope and faith. Thank you as your story makes my faith stronger!
