Hi, yes I suffer frequently with migraines, (I take sumatriptan & zomigs for mine) menieres disease ( which causes me to go very dizzy...including when I'm lying down too!) & have a period every 2 weeks at the mo', they have found there is a polyp in the womb that may be causing this? so are removing this & hoping this will solve it....or back to the drawing board..... so to speak! :(

I sympathize with all of them! x

Thanks for replying and sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Hopefully it will be sorted when they remove the polyp. Thanks for the response....tc c

I have been getting daily headaches. I'm in the process of moving into an office without a window at work to avoid the sunlight that filters through the blinds. Last week I had an MRI on my brain to see if there are any problems or links to the headaches. I have heavy periods, I always have, I used to have debilitating cramps. I also had a polyp removed a couple of years ago. Have you had a gyno exam regarding your menstral cycle frequency? Also have you checked your blood pressure?

Yes the last 3 months I have gone to my doc almost every other week from horrible headaches. He says they aren't migraines bc they aren't on one side of my head, and since he assumes it may be a symptoms of APS that comes and goes I was given Vicodin, tramadol, and Xanax as needed for sleep. I have always been plagued with heavy periods but never with headaches as bad as they have been recently. I'm assuming its just the disease progressing and I may need to up my blood thinners bc I only take aspirin and plaquenil.

My headaches are appalling, however improved since my baby aspirin was doubled to twice a day, however monthly hormones send them into orbit. I know this happens to many women as well who do not have APS... in fact The National Migraine Clinic who have a forum on here and clinic in London often do studies on this. Mary F x

Hi there sorry to hear your feeling unwell, ;migraines/ headaches can be so debilitating

I suffer with migraines and headaches, they go away when my inr is stable, before diagnosis I had tried every type of migraine medication with no relief, then noticed the inr connection which then led to my diagnosis, some of my docs still say that they are not linked to my inr levels. I had a hepatic thrombosis but it was my insistence that my migraines were related to my inr level that led to my Hughes diagnosis

Hope you feel better soon x

I get excruciating headaches that, to me, are impossible to attribute to one cause. I have had one currently for two weeks. The temperature where I am is in flux for Fall, so I don't expect relief very soon. Mine are of such intensity they actually wake me out of sleep in the night. I hope you heachache is better soon. It can be debilitating. These are the days you want to stay in bed with a sign that says, No Hard Questions Today.

Hi, I have had headaches daily for the last 9 months, but they think these are caused by TIA's found on the brain following an MRI. I am currently on 10mg of Warfarin to regulate my INR to 3.5. I am hoping once this is regulated that the headaches will go. Good luck with yours. I feel for you all that suffer with headaches and dizziness, so not nice. X

Severe headaches are a very common feature of Hughes syndrome. For some, they respond to aspirin. For others aspirin has no effect but plavix does. Some require anticoagulation with warfarin or lovenox/Clexane (heparin). Prof Hughes has published a trial of heparin in patients with Hughes syndrome and severe migraines without a history of thrombosis. I had very severe daily migraines for two years that were completely aborted in 24 hrs with my lovenox trial. I still take it I tried switching to warfarin twice but it isn't as effective for me as lovenox

Yes severe daily headaches for several years. Nothing really touches them and the drs shrug them off ...no help at all.

Hiya,

A bit new to all this, only recently having been diagnosed with Hughes.

I initially went to see my GP with Tinnitis & severe headaches, which after several scans, they found a Venous sinus Thrombosis. This led to anticoagulation & further haematology that eventually found antiphospholipids. Since I started taking warfarin ( 1-3 Mg for INR 2.5) The headaches lessened but have now returned along with the tinnnitis, the results now being I have to see a neurologist.

I was under the impression from my GP and the Hospital that the Warfarin would have stopped the headaches, so I'm now interested to see what the next MRI and Neurology visit will turn up.
