People with autoimmune are now more in the know about checking vitamin D levels and this paper is specifically about Vitamin D and Systemic Lupus, an interesting read! Not too long!

But how to increase those Vitamin D levels? I eat a lot of salmon (in fact, I take salmon oil capsules as well,) but whenever I take a Vitamin D supplement my INR goes haywire. I used to spend a teeny, tiny, itty bit of time in a tanning salon (the proprietor always thought I should stay longer "so you can get a nicer tan,") but I gave up on the salon when my EX rheumatologist suggested that going to a tanning salon when you have equivocal lupus blood work is insane.

He is now my EX rheumatologist, as his reluctance to treat my joint pain was resulting in a downward spiral, but I note his reservations about tanning beds may be right on. So I have not yet returned to the tanning salon.

Anybody here have any input?
