Tiredness when on Clexane

Has anyone been on long term clexane, suffering with severe tiredness to the point of not wanting to get up, not having the strength and walk. I am taking therapeutic dose, it a hefty two injections at night. Taking this as when on warfarin still had dvt's, and pe's.

How many mg of Clexane are you on

When I started on it I was on 120mgs then down to 80mgs daily before going on Warfarin.

I am always tired with it or without it. Have you had any blood tests lately

Hi i am on clexane 150mg and to be honest to start with i felt horrid always tired but found that if i get about 7-8 hour sleep per night i am ok. Everyone is different I think it is just trail and error till you find out how much sleep you are going to need per night.

If you not happy I would get yourself down to the GP

Hello,

I am on daily Clexane as I am allergic to Warfarin.

I am not sure why you are on two injections a night! What dose are you on?

It is better if you take the Clexane in the morning as it can interfere with your sleep quite considerably. (it did with me), this would add to your tiredness. My therapeutic dose is 60mg, although I may have to have it increased to 80mg.

As Jess says APS can cause severe fatigue. I find it terrible trying to get myself going in the mornings. I am pretty much tired all the time. I have had every blood test known to man and none of them show why I am so tired, so I have concluded it is the illness.

This has been confirmed by my Consultant at St. T's.

Hope this helps

Sue

HI Sue,

I take 160mg Clexane... I need to be on much higher dose than theraputic dose , 30 mgs less and I still had blood clots. I am a mystery to local heamtology team, They never had patient like!! It nice after 6 years to stop having strokes and blood clots but the price I have pay is highh....

I had 3 young children when I first became ill. now I got one at uni, and feel if missed out on life, having been permanently disabled..

When I come down to St T's it only place people understand me.

Same here - I was on Warfarin which did not suit me so put on Clexane since feb this year for life - Still very tired no change-ready to sleep anytime-just want to hibernate like a hamster !!! Have you had your blood checked since you were presribed Heparin ? Also I note that on the site it states that Heparin cannot be used longterm-I am on it for life apparently ? I take 120mg every night- have little energy and everything seems an effort which is not like me -

Hi Julie, I know it not a bit of help to you, but I feel exactly the same.. Had Bp check, today , it ok..... Feel like life is passing by. As I am disabed because of the numbers of strokes I have had, every little job feels like climbing Mount Everest every day... Have been on Clexane since Sept last year. and I am for life unless my bone scans say anything nasty.. Bone scans every 5 years.

Not what you're looking for?
