B12...

...when will I feel alive again? Has anyone has experience with the injection? Had my first of 6 today and if I'm honest. I'm expecting miracles! Ha! Apparently it will help my tiredness and give me the feeling back in the heels of my feet! Fingers crossed.

Hope everyone is well and happy :)

Hi Tannyah

I have had B12 injections every 10 weeks for the last 7 years and I am still waiting for the tiredness to go away...I have also taken Folic Acid and Ferrous Sulphate daily for the same period. My blood tests are now within the normal range, but I know from the past that as soon as I stop, the levels will drop again so I will be on this for life. No big deal, it’s just another couple of pills in my dosette box and the injection is given by the nurse at my GP office. I don’t feel any different just before or just after my injections, but I have so many different symptoms from my long list of health issues so it’s difficult to know what’s linked to what. Hope it helps you :-)

I used to get B12 injections, but they also had other vitamins included. They did make a difference, at first I could feel it but after awhile not so much. Because of the cost I discontinued them but now take sublingual vitamin B12 every day.

Don't expect a miracle, but do know they are good for you and can only help! Have you had your thyroid and adrenals checked? Just an idea which might be worthwhile if the tiredness was present before being on any medication which might otherwise be causing it.

All the best!

Where can one get B12 injections from? GP or consultant or naturopath?

I've tried all, no one can help me get them. I had a set of injections when I lived for one year in Canada from a naturopath which I can't reach them again. Here in the UK, no one will help. Can anyone recommend where to try? I also heard that the B12 injections can be bought in Italy?? Thank you

See, I knew if I asked I'd get sensible answers here.

I had several things tested a fortnight ago, including thyroid, liver, etc etc. All fine apart from B12. The inside of my heels are completely numb which is why I think my GP opted for the injections. She also thinks I have IBS which is why I'm not absorbing B12 particularly well.

The GP will give you injections if you're deficient. I've had one, I'm looking forward to another 5 within the next fortnight. Fingers crossed they'll sort me out.

I think they definitely work, they did for me in Canada. I do have issues with low folic acid, iron and ferritin, I take extra and now reviewing my B12, I will ask my GP.

Thanks everyone
