HI there, I get days and day of this with my variety of overlapping conditions... I do an hour on and an hour off to get me through the day... I find if I keep going, that causes me to have to stay in bed... and if I don't move about the same result! Hence one hour on then one hour off... and that changes to half hours if really bad... then hopefully... I come out the other side.. Mary F x

I hope you get over this soon. I haven't found much that works other than total rest and pacing myself.

Does anyone take medications specifically to deal with the fatigue and tiredness/brain fog? I would certainly welcome a magic pill right now....

HI Sharon:

Overdoing is a thing that is occasionally inevitable for all of us. Especially around the holidays. Yes, we know we'll pay. But emotionally we all need healing as well as physically and if one holds up in the house, squirming in pain, one can get cabin fever easily making for a nasty mood and not very pleasant company. Then nobody wants you out. (Ha-ha) We all have to get out every once in a while and have it NOT be a doctor's appointment. You have to plan a little fun in your life or we are just existing. I don't want to just exist. I want to live! I have too many things to do! These diseases have robbed me of enough already! So, I calculate paying for the good time. I just plan on being exhausted for whatever time my body needs because it's going to take it anyway. I'm certianly not Ms. Social Butterfly, but I make sure I'm at the important family functions and I even sneak a little culture in for me every once in a while. Or, last weekend my son and his new wife took me to the Wisconsin State Fair. Eeeeeh-Ha! Now that was a unique time alright! Especially the pig calling contest. Some real wallering there. Could be competition with The Three Tenors!

To answer your question, I have not heard of the magic pill to prevent exhaustion. Homeopathic remedies perhaps. You might ask your MD about Vitamin B12 injections and whether they would benefit your case or not. I believe in listening to your body. If it needs the rest - give it permission to rest WITHOUT GUILT. It has a way of taking it whether you like it or not so you may as well enjoy the rest.

I hope you are back in the swing of things soon and this bit of exhaustion doesn't last too long. To me, it is almost always worth the pay back if it is for my family.

Smiles, luck and prayers-

thank-you canary youve made me smile Just picturing the pig calling contest. It was worth going with my daughter shopping for both of us I think as she has been my main carer since last stroke and this was just us being normal!!

Thanks again

Normal is so soothing in it's fleeting arrival! My normal has changed so much, so constantly, that change is the only thing I can count on. I can clearly remember the first time I finally got someone to take me out after my stroke. I was in a wheelchair, very disfigured, and having not seen anything in a few YEARS other than a hospital or MD's office, I doddled over everything. It was x-mas so there was extra to doddle about. Every x-mas I go out myself now and I remember when I had to use the wheelchair and someone elses patience. And I really attrubute the freedom I have now to exercise, continuity of care, and sheer stubborness on my part. Soon you'll be doing so much on your own you won't remember when you needed a caretaker, but you'll never forget the totally selfless gift your daughter gave you. It's GOOD to go shopping!!!

Hi Sharon

I also get days when I feel very tired and fatigued, sometimes aching all over like mild flu.

Sometimes I rest for the day, not easy if I have work to do for clients, but sometimes I force myself to go cycling and that can help to clear the tiredness; I wonder if the exercise increases blood flow and flushes out the system.

Best wishes.

Dave
