I was told about 3 months-but, for me, I didn't feel i got any extra benefit and was happy to take it off my already large drug list! I did stick out the 12 weeks and doubled the dosage (after no side effects) at about 4 weeks.

Hi there

It took me at least three months to notice a difference and six months to feel full benefit. After that, if I missed a dose I felt rough for quite a while afterwards, until my levels really built up and now, many years later, if I accidentally miss a dose it makes no difference.

I hope it starts helping you soon.

Hi, I can't take Plaquenil, I am terribly allergic, along with most other drugs... however my daughter is on it, she noticed a difference in month three, it is a slow one to come up to speed, be patient a little longer, all the best to you. MaryF

Better to stay on them for 3 - 6 months then like Peanut says. I have never used it.

Anyway it sounds like some sort of wonder-drug for some of us. I have already found my wonder-drug when I started Warfarin.

Best wishes that it will help you!
